Acting schools

It's not unusual for children to grow up wanting to be super-stars. We all have that natural desire to be known. Obviously I mean recognized in a good way. Whether it be through scientific achievements, rock star fame, or becoming a world renowned actor, we want to leave our mark on planet earth. This way generations to come will all know and see that we've been here. Needless to say, this is one of the reasons acting schools across the nation are booming. Guys and gals of all ages are trying their hand at fame and hoping for the best. Everyone wants to be that next Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie.

When I think of acting schools and true drama talent, I automatically assume that it only pertains to the beautiful. A close buddy of mine back in college went through the whole theater and film schooling. His goal was to be the next Bruce Willis, as he said it. Toward the end of his college career, I went to see him give a performance on campus. It was outstanding. I was literally taken-back by his acting skills. This guy had true talent, and the routine acting schools/courses had paid off. He was now destined for Hollywood. He proceeded in moving out to the L.A. area to stay with a relative. Talk about being fortunate. Most wanna-be stars headed for Tinsel Town lack a wealthy relative living in Southern California. This guy had it made thus far. However, he had one strike against him. He didn't have the Cary Grant or Tom Cruise looks working for him. This could be a problem. After all, how many big stars do you see that lack stellar cheek bones, radiant skin, and dashing smiles? Those folks are few and far between, and practically none of them snatch leading roles. I don't care what acting schools they attended in the past. Unfortunately my buddy never got a single call back following an audition. It's a tough town, that Hollywood.

Attending reputable acting schools is one thing, but if you're dead-set on becoming a famous actor or actress, you'd better focus on your image as well. As sad as it may sound, image is almost more imperative in Hollywood than talent is now days. They want it all!

Challenges facing the Acting and Modeling Industry

This industry does not only involve strutting the cat walk and showing off the curves. There are so many ups and downs that make or break the careers of millions of people in this industry. Some of the personalities have stood unbowed by the conditions while others have caved in or completely lost it. One of the challenges in the acting and modeling world is the rise in fake agencies. In all places all over the world, there are hundreds or even millions of young people who think they have the looks to get into this industry. For that reason, the number of agencies promising so many things to these unsuspecting youths is increasing every day. This is a lucrative industry and the unscrupulous agencies use this as the bait.

It is possible to find actors and models who receive empty promises of securing contracts for months on end. Even when the work is genuine, the actors or models have to bear the long inconsistent working hours. Basically, when a person gets into this industry, he or she no longer has control over the time spent working. The contracts come up any time of day or night. Some models also sign up for deals they are not sure of, especially in relation to the payment terms and the type of work. This has brought down so many professionals because they cannot revoke the deal especially when it involves key players in the industry. Sometimes, the pay may not be equal to the amount of work involved and the models have to hold on to more than one job to make ends meet. The same case applies to the actors and actresses. There are so many takes in a scene before the director is satisfied. This translates to more hours on the set away from life, friends and family.

As if that is not enough, acting and modeling professionals also have to deal with eating disorders. This comes about due to the demand to maintain a face that is familiar with the audience. Since there is a lot of expectation from their fans and the employers, the urge to lose or maintain weight may push them to the extreme. This is also influenced by the constant media glare that is leading to many cases of anorexia amongst the celebrities in these careers. In addition, some of the actors and models forget to take care of their bodies because they do not want to be rejected by the world or the employers. Acting and modeling professionals are also challenged by addictions. This can be in relation to drugs or alcohol. Some adopt these habits as they try to handle the anxiety or fear of media, rejection, rivals in the industry or just for attention. They may start at it as a hobby but soon enough, it becomes an addiction. All these challenges have a negative impact on the individuals self image.

Amazing Acne Remedies that do not involve Products or Creams

Amazing Acne Remedies that do not involve Products or Creams

If you have never had black spots or blemishes on your face, you are lucky. Most people have had the ugly impact on their faces especially in the teen years. The skin clogs leading to unsightly pimples and inflamed pores. For some, the condition only got worse as they grew older, while for others, the face cleared up and healed all the scars. There are acne remedies that do not involve creams or other processed products. The most important thing to remember when trying out these options is that this process may not give the results instantaneously.

First on the list of acne remedies; check the diet. The skin is affected greatly by the type of food consumed. For instance, oily foods will assist in clogging the skin. To curb this, zinc levels in your diet should go up because this mineral assists in the condition. Zinc will reduce the quantities of sebum oil under the skin. You also need to look out for the levels of sulfur in the body. This is one of the ingredients in the anti-acne products and you therefore need to take in foods that are rich in sulfur. This is available in onions and garlic. In addition, take sufficient levels of water to aid the cells in removing the toxins from the body.

When you have that sorted, you need to think about the level of stress. High levels of stress will prevent you from getting sufficient rest and the skin will in turn lose its ability to rejuvenate. Due to lack of rest, your body will not perform as effectively as it should and therefore, the organs will not be utilized. Thus, you are prone to attacks and this means your skin is not exempted.

Third, acne remedies also involve hygienic areas of the skin. This will put the condition under control and prevent it from worsening. In this case, you need a cleanser that will kill the bacteria accumulated on the skin. The best option when it comes to cleansers is looking for natural cleansers. One of the natural treatments is mixing lemon juice with rose water. It will clean the face and you will notice the results after a few days. You can also use vinegar mixed with salt. Rub this on the face to cleanse it. Avoid using cleaning clothes that may scratch your face or break the pimples because some may become septic.

Still on hygiene, you should change your pillow cases often because oils accumulate on them during the night. This will harbor bacteria that will lead to the clogged pores. You can change them every day or after two days depending with your respiratory levels and the oiliness of your face. It is also advisable to keep your hands clean because you might be infecting yourself with bacteria every time you touch your face voluntarily or involuntarily.

Are Acne Creams Effective?

If most people had it their way, there would be no mirrors in the world. They would do this to avoid the constant headaches and worries they get when the image staring back at them on the mirror shows a face that has black heads, white heads and so many other ugly marks. Sometimes, when a person is suffering from this condition, it is hard to tell their skin tone. This is because some of the quick fixes people buy over the counter corrode the face and leave the skin dry and bleached.

It is hard for a person to choose the best acne creams without the help of a dermatologist who will diagnose the severity of the condition and the safest medication. However, this does not mean that all dermatologists working in back street stores or online are accredited. The choice of the medication will not be based on the most popular in the market or the most expensive; rather, it will be guided by the state of the skin and its characteristics. This type of medication is effective in controlling the condition and it is advisable since it is applied externally unlike other medication like pills that may affect even the internal organs. This option is also preferred instead of seeking laser treatment or other severe ways to control the condition.

When looking at the costs involved, it is cheaper and will not require hospitalization. This process will take a couple of months to eliminate the condition fully, but the period will not be painful or tedious in any way. Some of the acne creams require application in the morning and evening only. Some people dismiss their effectiveness claiming that they make the skin oily and this will block all the pores therefore worsening the condition. On the contrary, upon application of the medication, it will kill harmful microorganisms on the skins surface, open the pores, revive the skin and lessen cases of irritation. This treatment is also advisable because a person can use the all natural ingredients type, therefore avoiding any chemicals that may be harmful substances. It would be wrong to dismiss the effectiveness of this medication claiming that the ingredients are not certain and they may harm the skin. If that is the biggest fear, a person can use home made acne creams by learning more about the process involved. Some of the key ingredients in home-made acne creams are natural, such as fruit extracts, lemons juice, garlic, carrot juice and even cucumber. This will give you confidence in the product you use. You need to put your health first when choosing the acne creams and this entails checking the ingredients contained. Make sure it contains a lot of natural material, aloe extracts, vitamin C and vitamin E.

The Aspire AS5745DG - the Acer Notebook Computer for those

The Aspire AS5745DG - the Acer Notebook Computer for those for whom Two Dimensions just won't Do

It all started with the seriously imaginative Acer Aspire 5738DG-6165 (seriously unimaginative naming going on there, by the way) about an year and a half ago. At the time, the stores didn't even have 3-D television sets. If you are a little tired of having csceneblock. That Acer notebook computer was a phenomenal product for its time time. Overall, it was a pretty middle-of-the-line laptop: the Core2Duo processor, 4GB RAM, and ATI HD 4750 graphics card all positioned it as a solidly mid-range machine. It would be a completely unremarkable Acer notebook computer in every way if it wasn't for the fact that it had something no one had ever heard of - a 3-D screen.

That kind of performance would have been adequate back then. No one else had the killer 3-D feature they had, and that seems to have been about enough. Cut to a year later, and there is competition closing in on every side on the Acer notebook computer that started it all. A simple 3-D screen with polarized glasses is no longer enough. Which is why for this year, we have the new Aspire AS5745DG. Keeping up with the way the state-of-the-art in notebooks has progressed in the past 12 months, the new 3-D Acer notebook comes with a robust Core i5 processor,Nvidia GeForce GT4210M graphics, and the party trick of this piece, the 15.6 inch 1366 by 768 LED 3-D screen that you view with active shutter glasses. And nearly as attractive too is the fact that it comes on the market at under $900.

The Acer Aspire 5738DG from last year really impressed buyers and critics alike with its fine 3-D rendition of native 3-D movies and its impressive ability to convert 2-D movies effectively. The way it dealt with 3-D games seemed nothing short of remarkable too. 3-D computing is much better accepted now and Acer doesn't really need to build its devices to an aggressively low price anymore. This year's model, the Aspire AS5745DG, takes the laptop's 3-D credentials forward. To begin with, the 3-D is experienced through active shutter glasses of the kind you see on the latest 3-D televisions. The glasses keep in touch with the computer through an IR receiver.

The main reason Acer believes you will like one of its 3-D laptops is it believes you would like to dive into the world of 3-D gaming - as supported on its line by Nvidia's 3D Vision technology. But Acer doesn't want to limit the appeal of its 3-D laptop to gameheads alone of course. Part is the beauty of this Acer notebook computer is that it has a Blu-Ray drive that you can play 3-D movies on. Even more exciting though is the fact that if you pop in a 2-D movie, the 3-D engine will convert it to 3-D on the fly. This is a feature by the way that not even HP's much more expensive Envy 17 3-D includes. It certainly speaks well for Acer's knowledge of its audience.

Things to Look Out for when Choosing an Accounting Software

Things to Look Out for when Choosing an Accounting Software Program

Settling for an ideal package that will be sufficient for your company or individual needs can take most of your time and money if you have no clue what you should get or where to get it. An accounting software program can be made to handle the needs of a particular industry or it can be general. For that reason, you need to think about this to avoid ending up with the wrong package. With the one specified for a certain field, it is more expensive to purchase but it comes with the features that will make the work in that industry efficient. This may not be the right choice for a company or small business that only requires the basic operations. It is also important to think about the kind of business the company handles and the returns. Investing in these packages means adding another expense to the business and therefore, this added expense must benefit the company in one way or another. The returns the company gets from using the package must meet the expense of purchase and installation as well as the maintenance.

Another factor that will stand out when making the choice is the field of operation the company is in. There are ethical requirements concerning the accountancy field. The choice of an accounting software program needs to conform to these standards. This will help the personnel in following the ethics of the profession. In addition, you need to look at the assistance available in case the package trouble shoots. This will help you to eliminate any additional charge that may be imposed on you in future. If there is no assistance provided and you have to foot the bill, strike that package from your list immediately.

It is also important to think about the cost of upgrading the systems if need be to handle the new package and the method you will use to train the workers. You can check whether the company offering the package has training personnel you can hire or whose services are free for every purchase. To make a worthwhile purchase, you also need to look at the recent releases of the same package. This will help you to go for the latest module and avoid rogue sellers who may have the previous versions. This will help in settling for a package that has sufficient features in relation to your line of operation, and steer clear of ones with features that only burden your systems but they are never in use. If you are not sure about the efficiency of the accounting software program, it will not hurt to research on the internet, industry journals or through friends. This is a good way of coming across offers that are discounted or the ones that are new and efficient in the market. Make sure you settle for an authentic package.

How to Get Unlimited Access to Public Records

In any state or republic, there is an effective system that assists in the storage of information so that it is not tampered with or used maliciously. For this reason, the body concerned may limit access to public records except in specified cases. Some of the information that may not be available for all and sundry includes jail reports, census, phone addresses, postal addresses, bankruptcy reports and many more. Sometimes, people want to get these reports for reasons such as when investigating suspicious partners, looking for missing persons, looking for friends they lost contact with or trying to reach distant members of the extended family. Due to the confidentiality status of this information, most people do not know how to get the specific data they are looking for. This is because of the classification of the departments handling the reports, the location of the offices and other technicalities involved. However, getting these repots does not have to be tiresome. Since most of the organizations have gone online, a person can gain access to public records through the internet.

The Federal Freedom of information Act gives people the liberty to get some reports from the federal agencies, while reports from the state agencies are under the state. Before embarking on this process, a person should research widely to identify the department or body that has the information being sort. For instance, if a person is looking for bankruptcy information, it is important to find out the information is stored under which department. This will make it easy for the person to approach the relevant authorities instead of embarking on a wild goose chase. In addition, the person should find out if the information is available. It is possible to find that the information presumed to be available is not for general viewing. This can happen for classified files.

On the same note, a person should know where the information can be found. Does it mean the person has to go to the offices physically? Can the information be sourced through the internet? The place dictates by the type of information to be found there. For instance, marriage information can be sourced from the church. If the person wants information relating to property, it is available from the state agency in charge of property. The next step is to make the request official by sending a letter to the department. The intention must be clear or the access to public records request will not be granted because a person may use the information wrongly. If the request is not granted, a person can seek the services of an attorney to find other ways of getting the information or to pursue the same method. If the personnel in the department are troublesome, a person can go to the head personnel to make the request. In some cases, a person will meet some charges before getting access to the public records, but this varies.

Abstract Paintings To Fit Your Mood

If you want something new and interesting to add to your home dcor, or perhaps to the blank walls in your office at work, art is always a great idea. The great thing about art is that though there are some pieces that are loved worldwide, most art is subjective. This means what you see that excites and moves you may not do much for someone else. When you are buying art, you want to buy what makes you feel good, or serene, or happy, or content or whatever feeling you wish to feel. Abstract paintings are popular because they can be seen in many different ways.

The difference between abstract paintings and other types of paintings is that most of the time, you can not pick out anything in a form you understand. Landscape and portrait paintings, and even those that are called still life, are about objects, people, or places. You can think of abstract paintings as being about something else. Many of them are about a feeling, a moment, or an idea. These things are hard to put into a form, so the artist just uses colors, shapes, patterns, and simple strokes that relate that idea or feeling to them. You can almost feel an emotion coming out of a painting done by a talented artist.

You may have seen abstract paintings in the past and decided that they were not for you simple because they didn't do anything for you. The whole idea behind abstract is what you get out of it when you feel when you see it. You probably haven't seen any that really said something positive to you. Some that do them will do them no matter what mood they are in. Some can be very dark and dismal, which may have been what turned you off. Instead of thinking that you hate this genre, take some time to find more. You may just discover one that says something that touches you in the right spot and you'll fall in love with it.

Some abstract paintings have bold strokes and colors. These can be very in-you-face and some people do not like that in art. Other people, on the other hand, love this and would buy such a painting in an instant. Not all of them are blocks in bright colors that make you feel edgy. Some are more serene in colors that calm and relax a person. If you are low on energy at work, abstract paintings with vibrant colors can help keep you energized. If you need something in your home that calms you down, look for blues and greens to help you relax.

If you have a creative bend, you too can create your own abstract paintings. In fact, anyone can do these. Artist discipline is not as important in abstract as putting your mood or idea to color and shape might be. Your kids can even do abstract paintings as a way to get involved in art and all things creative. You can go out and buy a canvas and some paints, and create something great that you want to hang in your home. No one will know it was not done by a big name artist. Either they will love it or hate it, but as long as you love it, that is all that matters.

A Great Abs Exercise Routine Is Supposed to Be All

A Great Abs Exercise Routine Is Supposed to Be All about Your Core Muscles. And Crunches Alone Won't Help you There

Flip through any magazine that writes about fitness, and sooner or later, you are bound to find an article that tries to explain to you how essential it is to work on your core muscles. What are these core muscles that they keep trying to tell you about? In your abdomen, there are five important kinds of muscle that go all around your abdominal cavity. They hold you up, give you the strength to stand up, and protect your abdomen. And of course, to fitness enthusiasts who love the look of a sixpack, they make you look great. To people who find that great abs are beautiful and who find that they help them do better in all kinds of physical sports and activities, the tendency is often to focus on exercising the core muscles in the wrong way. They make the mistake of only paying attention to the abdominal muscles. An intense abs exercise routine won't give you the wonderful abs that you are looking for if you don't give your other core muscles any attention. That means working on the muscles that are a part of your abdominal wall, of course. But it also means working on your pelvic muscles and your oblique muscles. It means paying attention to the muscles that hold your back and your spine up.

A complete abs exercise routine is not merely about doing a lot of crunches for your sixpack while you forget about all the other muscles that they connect to. You'll certainly gain a bit of definition in your abdomen. But it won't be very strong if none of the core muscles that they connect to your abs are strong as well. Depending on muscles that aren't properly supported all around by other core muscles, will mean one thing - misplaced trust in what you're abs can do. And sports injuries.

A great abs exercise routine isn't just about putting your abdominal wall through a punishing set of exercises. It is about strengthening every muscle that it connects to, so that it has a leg to stand on. When you target all the muscles in your hips, your upper back, the sides of your abdomen and your lower back, you'll find that your abs are somehow magically firmer, stronger and that they somehow hold you up much better. So what kind of exercises do you need to be looking into? You do need your abdominal crunches of course; but you also need to be serious about your squats, you're hanging knee raises, and your planks. Pilates can be a great way of targeting all your core muscles without a lot of pain.

Remember - you need to look for an abs exercise routine that gives you strength by working out your entire core. And that isn't just you front abdominal wall. You don't really need a personal trainer for this; get a quality DVD that tells you how to strengthen your core. It wonn't need you to use any props other than an exercise mat. For something that is achieved as simply as this is, one wonders why more people don't try it.

More about digital cameras for a summer vacation

Are you planning a summer get a way? What is on your list of must carry items? This will depend with the length, type and location of your holiday. To have a memorable time, you obviously need to pack some clothes, binoculars, tent (if you are camping) and have some money to spend. But, despite anticipating a good time, you also need to capture some of the moments for your friends and family members. You can decide to hire the services of a photographer to take some portraits of you in your destinations, but the best way is for you to act as your own photographer. For that case, you need to know more about digital cameras.

You may get a gadget that captures still images or only records video content. However, for versatility, you can acquire one that stores both video and images. Most of these will allow you to edit the quality of images you take and you can also change the lens in some of the more advanced types. If you are acquainted with the operations of complex gadgets, you can go for the more expensive but advanced pieces. However, if you are a novice or you do not need a lot of features on your gadget, the best choice is the compact one also referred to as the point and shoot because it does not involve a lot of technicality. You might have one of these already or you have seen one with a friend. It is the most popular photo gadget in the world because it is cheap.

There are many types of these depending with the features. Some have retractable lenses that help in taking clearer images while others are ideal for underwater activities like scuba diving because they are water resistant. If your adventure is not out of the ordinary, just look for a gadget that has a larger memory capacity, can capture at least several minutes of video apart from taking still photos, inbuilt flash and an LCD screen to help you frame your image. If you want the quality of your captured moments to look sleek and professional, your gadget must be professional and high tech too. For that reason, the single lens reflex will do. This will come in handy if you are on a safari. If you want to capture a lion or other wildlife that is at a distance, you will take off the lens and fix a telephoto lens. This is the major difference between the compact one and this advanced professional gadget.

The easiest way to learn about digital cameras before you make the purchase is to visit the photography studio. You will get a single lens reflex gadget and you can learn its basic operations to avoid being disappointed. This gadget is more costly but it has more features. You can capture images in areas where the flash is ineffective or where the image is in motion.

Abdominal Exercises

If you have lost weight, or if you have just recently put on a few pounds, you probably complain about your mid section. This is where we tend to put on weight first, and is one of the toughest spots to flatten and tone near a goal weight when dieting. If you are struggling with this area, you can do some abdominal exercises to help your waist get smaller. However, don't think that this will solve your problem. You still have to lose the overlying fat. Once that is gone, you can show of your hard work with rock hard abs and a trim waist. Sounds good, right?

Some believe that spot training with abdominal exercises will get rid of those last, pesky five pounds that want to hang around in that general area. Sadly, spot training is not really about getting rid of that fat, but it can help you tone the muscles in that area, and can also help your skin to tighten up a bit from your weight loss. Abdominal exercises are going to do you a lot of good, but your hard work will only be visible once you have reached your goal weight. These exercises go along with a healthy diet that helps you lose inches and pounds.

You can do simple situps for abdominal exercises if you wish. Some people find these to be hard on the back though. If you do them and they feel good, that is just fine for you. You can also do basic crunches, which are not as hard on the back and are more readily recommended than full sit ups by some fitness trainers. As long as you are feeling the right muscles tighten and burn, whatever you choose is good enough to help. Just make sure you use proper form and that you watch for pain signals in other parts of your body. These help with back muscles as well, which is a great idea for the health of your body and spine in the long run.

There are other low cost abdominal exercises that you can do on your own. Some like to use a medicine ball to help with supporting the lower back with modified situps or crunches. Some like to do exercises that twist the torso. Do not do these with a bad back. These not only help with abdominal exercises, they also work on the sides and the back muscles all at once. The core muscles that hold your body up right and that support much of what you do each day are included in these activities, so make the most of them and you'll be slimmer and feeling better in no time.

Situps and crunches are not for everyone. If you are one of these people, you can find help with abdominal exercises. There are quite a few home gym items that you can use that do not cost you a lot of money to buy. You can search them out and see which looks like something you want to do on a daily basis to work on toning your body. You can also find great ways to get in your ab exercises at your local gym. Sometimes, the whole body workout is the answer, even when you think your abs are your biggest problem.

Are 529 Savings Plans as Completely Dependable as they Sound?

Are 529 Savings Plans as Completely Dependable as they Sound?

Investing in age-based 529 savings plans for your child's college may seem like the ultimate in responsible investing in your child's future. An age-based 529 plan typically invests your money in high-growth investments - stocks and the like - to begin with. As your child's college freshman year draws closer, they are supposed to realize that if they lose any money in the stock markets, they don't have any time to recover; they are then supposed to move your investments to something far safer and more guaranteed. That's the way they are supposed to work. As lots of families who have invested their money in age-based 529 savings plans for their children discovered in 2008, what these plans actually do happens to be somewhat different from what they promise to do. A lot of people had their college funds wiped out when the market cratered. They might promise to invest in something safe; their definition of what constitutes safety might be radically different from yours though. There are other things you need to know about 529 savings plans too.

The companies that promote 529 savings plans like to tell you about how a rosy it can all be entrusting your child's college funds to a conservative and caring professionally managed finance company that will invest your money in a way that will beat the stock market. If you choose a good and reputed establishment, you're likely to actually see those results too. What they don't tell you in a way you ever notice is that you are likely to lose a lot of what you gain paying them their management fees and annual fees. You pay those even if they don't actually beat the market. 529 savings plans sold by investment advisers usually have the highest fees attached. Direct sold plans have the lowest ones.

While 529 savings plans can be a great idea, to invest exclusively in them for your child's college can be risky. You never know when the markets will begin to head south. Diversifying your investments - putting your money in CDs, and saving accounts, may be a good idea too. Choosing a prepaid tuition plan can be a great idea too. That's when you lock in a couple of years or a couple of semesters for your child's college at today's prices. There are private college 529 plans that allow you to do this with private colleges too. There's just one little problem. If your child doesn't attend the exact public university or one of the private colleges you are allowed a choice of, you will lose big-time. You no longer have a price guarantee.

What this shows you is that there is no guaranteed easy answer when it comes to investing. Investing always needs your close supervision.

The End of the Road for the 40 Year Mortgage

The End of the Road for the 40 Year Mortgage ?

The media keeps writing premature obituaries for the housing finance majors Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae with a certain amount of glee. Is that really called for though? If the federal government actually manages to shut these two down, would that be a good thing for homeowners in America? America has been raised on a steady diet of the 30-year and 40-year mortgages for about a half century now. With these two housing finance companies out of the running, Americans might as well forget convenient mortgage options like these. Most borrowers, the ones who live in the cities and in the rural towns especially, could see very high interest rates become almost the rule (although suburban home buyers might be spared). And private lenders, knowing there is no calming influence from the government anymore may begin to charge you all kinds of fees for regular everyday loan features that you've always taken for granted. If for instance you were in talks with a lender for a loan, and you wanted to lock the interest rate in before you actually took the loan now, that could cost you.

Both Republicans and the Democrats dislike Freddie and Fannie. And they both would like to see these two walk away into the sunset, finally. But it'll be a slow process. No one wants America to quit cold turkey. Why does everyone want to see the last of these two mortgage giants? It's easy to understand. While both were created to make it easy for the general public to take out mortgage loans, the two companies decided they didn't want any part of the American public. They just wanted to make use of whatever means they had to make their shareholders rich - a strategy that has cost billions of dollars in taxpayer money.

Still, even when Freddie and Fannie are finally dissolved, everyone does want the government to do something to make the 30 year and 40 year mortgage an option that the regular person can take advantage of. The housing finance crisis of 2008 especially shows that you can't have a housing market that completely depends on private lending.

The 40 year mortgage first came about by an act of Congress in the 50s. Ever since then, almost every long-term loan such as this has only been issued because the government was willing to guarantee it. No regular private lender has investors who aere willing to take on such a long-term bet. Any investor could only hope to be dead before seeing any loan be repaid. Anyone willing to make such a loan usually requires a much larger down payment and an impossibly high credit score. Actually, that might not be a very bad idea in a country where people buying homes that they can ill afford.

Experts believe that the 40 year mortgage is a major reason why the American housing finance system is in collapse. It usually makes borrowers pay the same rates of interest forever even when interest rates fall. Anyway, these kinds of loans are meant for subprime borrowers - those who are not able to pay a proper down payment. And as everyone knows, those who pay a low down payment are more likely to default. Perhaps it's a good thing that long-term mortgages are coming to an end. Most countries don't have them anyway

You have been shut up all winter and you probably can't even remember what the outdoors look like. Here's a crazy thought - how about you get out there in the month of May to celebrate the arrival of spring and warmth with a 10k race? Yes, it sounds crazy; especially considering that you've never done anything more in the running department other than, say, an occasional jog around the park. The thing is, it can be really motivating to have something to shoot for. It certainly can be done; even if your entire training unit consists of one skinny friend. If you could rope a friend in and get started on her training, you could probably cheer each other on and actually do it. And here's another thing that will probably cheer you up - training hard the way you will need to complete a 10k race actually gives you a drug-like boost. It's real, it's proven. And in the end, you'll probably have a far better figure to boast of (if you are a woman, that is).

If you have had practically no experience with anything like a 10k race, you need to make sure that you don't push yourself too hard. Doing that when you are out of practice can end up laying you low with all kinds of injuries. If you feel like signing up for a race to give you something to aim for, you probably don't want to sign up for anything that is any closer than two months away. Your body certainly needs that amount of time to get used to those kinds of demands. And then, since you are not trying to be a dedicated amateur or anything, you probably need to allow for a few off days - in case work pressures come in the way or something. Ten kilometers work out to 6.2 miles. It can be quite a demanding thing to prepare for to run that far. If training for this much in a mere eight weeks seems like too much, you could conceivably opt for the 3.5 mile distance first. As you train, make sure that you don't do any more than 3 miles at your target pace. Once you reach that mark, you can half-walk and half-run the rest of the way. Once you reach 10 miles, you want to keep running that way until the day of the race. You need to give your body's reserves a bit of time to build up. In the last week before the race, be sure that you cut down your practice distance by about 20%.

Some people tend to feel that going out on a group practice run with your friends can distract you from the goal at hand. While there might be something to that, this kind of thinking should only apply to professional athletes or serious amateurs. For anyone who's trying to get into shape for the first time, the kind of inspiration and motivation that fellow runners can bring can be invaluable. Having friends to answer to can also make it impossible for you to not show up one day just because you don't feel like it. Of course, you need to pace yourself to the speeds that you are comfortable with.

On the day of the race, remember that it's your first race. You don't have to push yourself to finish in record time. You only need to push yourself to finish. If halfway through the race, you feel panic setting in, all you need to do is slow your pace down. Sometimes, it can even be acceptable to walk to the finish. Just as long as you make a decent attempt.

A 1 Bedroom Apartment Has Many Advantages

When I first moved out of my parents' home, I rented a 1 bedroom apartment that was probably less than 600 square feet. It was small and somewhat cramped, but there were a lot of advantages to living in such a small apartment.

The best thing for me about living in a 1 bedroom apartment was that there was not much to clean up. My parents lived in a home almost three times the size of my apartment, and I remember having to clean the house and how long it took when I was growing up.

If I straightened up on a daily basis, I never had to worry about giving it a serious cleaning, and I never felt self-conscious about having company over.

Another advantage of a 1 bedroom apartment is that they are far less expensive than apartments or houses with multiple bedrooms. I know that when I got my first apartment, it was about $100 less per month than a neighbor of mine who had a two-bedroom apartment.

One of the things I really liked about having a 1 bedroom apartment, as well, was that it was a lot more cozy than some of the larger units. I could keep it very comfortable and inviting, and not have to invest that much in furniture or dcor. I have always prided myself in making the most out of whatever living space I had, and I certainly did that with my first apartment.

I also found that I had fewer problems in terms of maintenance with my 1 bedroom apartment than many of my neighbors had with theirs. I suppose it stands to reason that if one has more rooms and more space there are likely to be more problems, but outside of a few minor instances, I don't ever remember having to call for maintenance the way some of the other tenants did.

As time went by, I needed a bigger home. I met my wife and started a family, and I had to move out of my 1 bedroom apartment. I have been back to visit it a few times, and it seems so small now that I sometimes wonder how I ever made it work, but it still holds a very special place in my heart. I do sometimes wonder if I had never met my wife if I would still be living there.

While a 1 bedroom apartment may seem too small or not worth the trouble, there a lot of advantages to renting one. I found that it more than suited my needs when I first moved out, and it was probably the place to which I became the most attached.

The Sole F85 Treadmill is the top model in the

The Sole F85 Treadmill is the top model in the folding series of treadmills and features a 3.5-horsepower continuous-duty motor and zinc-coated balanced flywheel. With these upgrades in place, you can reach speeds up to 12 miles per hour and inclines up to 15 percent. Its easy to track your progress with the large, 9-inch LCD backlit screen, plus an integrated sound system where you can listen to your iPod or MP3 player. The Sole F85 has an array of practical features such as the two heart-rate controlled options, message board for mapping progress and six automated programs. Of course, you can customize your own program and even tuck away the treadmill when not in use.

Sole F85 Treadmill Specifications:

Average Price: $1,999.00
Dimensions: 35 x 80 inches
Running Surface: 22 x 60 inches
Weight: 280 pounds
Motor: 3.5 horsepower
Speed: 0.5 to 12 miles per hour
Incline: 15 percent maximum
Capacity: 400 pounds
Display: Backlit blue LCD, 9 inches
Features: Heart rate control, hand pulse grips, message window, cooling fans

Whats So Great About the Sole F85 Treadmill?

Quiet: If youre someone that likes to listen to music or watch TV while running, youll love the quiet operation of this machine. The low noise also makes the treadmill ideal for parents who have young children and prefer to do their exercises at night. Since the majority of treadmills are very large and obtrusive, many people find that theyre limited as to where they can place them. The Sole F85 doesnt have these limitations and, on the low setting, the machine is near silent.

Sturdy: Not only will you enjoy a super quiet operation, but the Sole F85 stands strong and sturdy. That means the machine wont rattle or shake as you run or hit inclines, and you can enjoy the treadmill for years to come without it looking worn or outdated.

Maneuverable: Its not every day that you find a treadmill that is actually easy to move. If youre someone who will be setting up your treadmill and leaving it there, this wont be much of an issue. But if you will be moving the machine around, youll appreciate the ease of maneuverability. The Sole F85 has a folding mechanism that enables it to be folded and unfolded within seconds. You can also roll the treadmill around; perfect if youre having guests over and want to clear out space.

Comfortable: If you have pain in the knees when running on asphalt, rest assured that this treadmill wont leave you in the same pain. The Sole F85 is extremely comfortable and has great shock absorption. While the treadmill isnt known for being the widest on the market, it does offer enough space that you wont feel cramped while running. The controls are large and easy to operate as well.

Whats Not So Great About the Sole F85 Treadmill?

Lack of Technology: Dont expect a lot of new technology with this machine, as it doesnt have a USB port for data output, color LCD screen or animations and graphics. If state-of-the-art technology is important to you and you plan to have your machine be compatible with various electronic devices, this machine may not be for you. However, there are some good points to having limited technology. First, the price is moderate, so you pay for a quality machine and nothing more. Second, you dont have to worry about your treadmill going out-of-date as technology emerges.

Speed Lag: There is some lag when adjusting speed, more specifically when cranking the speed up or down. This is not an oversight by Sole, but a feature that allows the motor to have a longer lifespan. If you are someone that loves to adjust the speed however, youll find that this treadmill wont keep up with your demands as well as others.

Limited Features: Just as the machine lacks in technology, it also has limited features. There are stereos built into the machine, but the speakers are not the best of quality. The fans do little in terms of actually cooling you off and instead just release a small breeze. There is no cool down feature to end your workout either, so you will have to customize your own program to meet these needs.

Is the Sole F85 Treadmill a Great Purchase?

If youre looking for a serious treadmill that is affordable, comfortable, sturdy and quiet, the Sole F85 Treadmill is a wonderful purchase. While it isnt jam-packed with features and technology, most agree that this allows more room for a better quality design. Youll certainly get years of use out of this treadmill, plus be able to reach your fitness goals and all without breaking the bank.

If youre tired of having to update your computer and

If youre tired of having to update your computer and install anti-virus software, the Samsung Series 5 3G 12.1-Inch Chromebook may be just what youre looking for. The innovative design makes this laptop different than any others on the market, as it uses a Google operating system only. This keeps the computer streamlined, giving users exactly what they need and nothing more to slow down the system. With a lightweight design, exceptionally long battery life and automatic updates, youll find this Samsung Chromebook to be a nice addition to your online world.

Samsung Series 5 3G 12.1-Inch Chromebook Specifications:

Item Height: 0.80 inches
Item Width: 8.60 inches
Screen Size: 12.1 inches
Processor Brand: Intel
Graphics Coprocessor: Intel NM10
Storage: 16 GB SSD
Battery: 6-cell battery
Webcam: 1-megapixel
Audio: Built-in stereo speakers
System Memory: 2 GB
Operating System: Google Chrome

Whats So Great About the Samsung Series 5 3G 12.1-Inch Chromebook?

Battery Life: A common gripe about laptops is their lack of battery life. While many laptops only get two to three hours, the Chromebook gets a full 8.5 hours. The magic behind it all is Samsungs intelligent battery charging technology that allows the battery to keep more of its charge. Not only do you get far more hours out of your battery, but also you save money from not having to replace it.

Design: The Chromebook sports a super lightweight design, with thin, sleek edges and an LED backlit display. The small size of the laptop doesnt compromise the screen size, which is 12.1 inches and is anti-reflective for easy reading. You can also enjoy the most detailed images with the 300-nit brightness that comes in 40 percent brighter than other laptops. The Chromebook boots in ten seconds and resumes immediately when in sleep mode.

Intuitive: Youll be surprised at just how intuitive the Chromebook is. Unlike other laptops that have to be manually updated with the latest software, this Samsung Series 5 continues to get better on its own. When you turn it on, it automatically updates all the programs and apps without any prompts or reminders. With this approach, you know youre always using the most updated version of everything.

Security: With the cloud-based system that the Chromebook relies on, you can share your computer with a friend and not worry about compromising your own sensitive information. Chromebooks are the first of their kind that have an operating system that features multiple layers of protection within the computer such as data encryption and sandboxing.

Whats Not So Great About the Samsung Series 5 3G 12.1-Inch Chromebook?

Limited Operating System: If you use a lot of programs outside of Google, the Chromebook may not be for you. The only OS it can use is Chrome, which is designed to work primarily with Google programs such as Gmail and Google Docs. The netbook also lacks the heavy duty processing power that is needed to supply larger programs, many of which are used for work-related or gaming reasons. If youre looking for a lightweight, user-friendly computer for your personal needs, the Chromebook is an excellent choice. If you need your computer for work or gaming, look elsewhere.

Apps: At this time, there arent many apps that are worth getting excited about. If you plan to use the laptop primarily for its applications, youll find that they are very limited at this point. The good news is that Google has more to come, so new apps will be added regularly. This comes with much anticipation for current owners, as the success of the Chromebook is based off the Google OS and its respective Android apps.

Touchpad: The touchpad is a bit stubborn at times. There are different problems with it; in some cases, the touchpad is too sensitive and you end up moving your finger and click on something else, but other times its difficult and wont register the taps. Whats So Great About the Playseat World Rally Championship Gaming Seat?

Realistic: If you want the ultimate gaming experience, this seat has it all. Designed after a race car seat that is featured in World Rally Championship rally cars, it includes head stabilizers, an extra strong and lightweight racing seat, high-profile side bolsters and removable seat back and base cushions. The seat also features a quick release handle for adjustment of the gas, clots and brake pedal set.

Quality: Not only does this gaming seat sport a realistic design, but also it is made from the highest quality materials. The seat is fully upholstered in Alcantara Suede fabric and has the official WRC logo and synthetic leather reinforcements that are placed in high-wear areas to protect the seat. The steel frame is strong and durable without compromising the weight. High-tension springs, side bolsters made from high-density foam and an oval steel tubing mechanism adds to the quality of the design.

Compatibility: Theres no doubt that the World Rally Championship Gaming Seat is an investment, but it is one that can be used across gaming consoles. The seat is also compatible with most electronic steering wheel and pedal sets on the market as the seat does not include a steering wheel, foot pedals or controllers. No matter which brand of accessories you choose to purchase, you can expect a thrilling gaming experience across the board.

Comfort: You may find yourself sitting in this gaming seat even when youre not playing a game thats just how comfortable it is. The pedals and driver position are fully adjustable, making it easy to find that perfect point of comfort. The side bolsters are made from high-density foam, while synthetic leather and suede fabric keep the seat cool and comfortable. The frame is super lightweight even though its made from powder coated steel, and a patented foldable system allows the gaming seat to fold up compactly.

Whats Not So Great About the Playseat World Rally Championship Gaming Seat?

Cables: If you dont like cables coming out of your electronic equipment, this playseat will take some getting used to. When you first open the box, there are cables that need to be connected from the steering wheel to the gaming console, the pedals, the shifter and a power brick. This not only makes for a sore sight, but also be a pain to set up. Some owners have suggested using zip ties to keep the cables neat and separated, so this inexpensive option may do the trick for you.

Shift: The shift can be a bit difficult to operate, as the faster you go, the more resistance it applies. When this happens, its challenging to hold the wheel straight and accomplish the route that youre aiming for. This force generally doesnt become problem until youre driving at speeds over 100mph and may just take a bit of getting used to depending on the user, as well as the gaming console. The good news is that the wheel works right out of the box, and with so many customizable options on the steering wheel, you can find a fit thats most comfortable.

Expensive: The World Rally Championship Gaming Seat is definitely an investment, although this hasnt been much of an issue across gamers. That being said, the gaming seat still comes at a high cost and is very similar to the previous model. Comfort and accessibility have been added to the new model, but other parts such as lack of wireless components should have been included with this newer seat for the cost.

Most agree that its nearly impossible to improve on the

Most agree that its nearly impossible to improve on the Les Paul model, but the Epiphone Les Paul Ultra-II Electric Guitar has accomplished this challenge. Les Paul guitars are known for being heavy, but this updated version is three pounds lighter and more comfortable, making longs shows and gigs a breeze. And of course, you still get the same great playing power as with any traditional Les Paul, with phenomenal humbuckers and a driven rock sound.

Epiphone Les Paul Ultra-II Electric Guitar Specifications:

Average Price: $750.00
Product Dimensions: 45 x 17 x 7 inches; 10 pounds
Construction: Chambered mahogany body/Rosewood fretboard
Scale: 24.75

Whats So Great About the Epiphone Les Paul Ultra-II Electric Guitar?

Lightweight: The Les Paul Ultra-II is super lightweight and features internal acoustic chambers. The internal chambers give the guitar its hollow body and keeps the instrument extra comfortable. In fact, the Ultra-II comes in weighing three pounds less than the other Les Paul models, so you can expect but nothing but pure comfort when using this guitar.

Ergonomic: In addition to the lightweight design of the Ultra-II, you can also enjoy an updated design that is more comfortable than ever. Instead of having sharp corners that can dig into your sides as some guitars do, the Les Paul Ultra-II has contours on the back that make it easy to hold. Even more enjoyable is the satin finish on the neck that makes it easy to slide your hand back and forth at lightning fast speeds. Traditionally, guitars have a painted finish that can be sticky. All the controls are in the right places so that you never have to fuss around with trying to find the buttons. Both the volume and tone knobs are easily accessible, but out of the way so that theyre not obtrusive while playing.

Sound: Theres really no way around it: Les Paul guitars are simply remarkable. You can enjoy a driven rock sound thats perfect for playing classic rock songs, although some artists have found the Ultra-II to be especially versatile and can even play songs like Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. With this Les Paul model you can enjoy gold alnico humbuckers and tuning pegs and a contrasting rhythm and treble. If youre looking for a jam session of a lifetime, the Ultra-II will certainly get you there. And time and time again, Les Paul never fails to impress as it sets the bar high as to what songs can be played on an electric guitar. To cover more ground, you can use the piezo acoustic pickup on quieter, more delicate songs, then turn back on the humbuckers for jamming out to solos.

Whats Not So Great About the Epiphone Les Paul Ultra-II Electric Guitar?

Top Heavy: While the body of the guitar is lightweight, the headstock remains heavy. This can make the guitar feel a bit awkward and unbalanced and will take some getting used to. With other guitars, including Les Paul models, both the body and headstock remain in sync with each other in terms of weight so you won't notice a difference as you will with the Ultra-II. Fortunately, most musicians agree that getting used to a heavier headstock and lighter body is fairly easy.

Hardware: Any Les Paul model has a lot of hype to live up to, and the hardware on the Ultra-II lacks in some departments. The guitar comes inspected from the USA, which means it should be functioning perfectly out of the box. However, there have been some problems with the hardware beyond it being made from a gold finish that will tarnish over time. The output jacks have thin plastic around them that can break, while the output jacks are substandard. While the company will replace parts if needed, you may find that going to a guitar repair shop may have better parts and allow the guitar to work and sound better. And as any musician knows, each piece of hardware must be perfect for the quality of sound to come through.
