Family Vacations at Walt Disney World

When I was a child, my most memorable experience was going to Walt Disney World for the very first time with my family. I was 10 years old, and my father had just received a promotion at work. To celebrate, we took a trip to Orlando, where I got to visit the Magic Kingdom and Epcot Center. The vacation lasted just three days, but I can still feel the wonder and excitement of being in "the happiest place on Earth." This is something I want my own children to experience, which is why I'm currently trying to put together an affordable Walt Disney World vacation package.

Things have come a long way in the 20 years since I last journeyed to Orlando. Now instead of using a travel agent, I can scour the Internet for the best Walt Disney World deals on my own. There are lots of sites out there that offer amazing discounts on every facet of a Florida vacation, including airfare, car rental, and accommodation. In addition, I can also enjoy tremendous savings on theme park tickets and other area attractions. Yes, the beauty of Orlando is that there's a whole lot more to do than just visit the Magic Kingdom, so we can spend a week there and do something different every single day.

The biggest expenses for a family vacation at Walt Disney World are the airplane tickets and hotel rooms. Searching for discount airfare to Orlando is rather time consuming because there are so many variables to consider. For instance, is it cheaper to leave on a Tuesday or Wednesday rather than a Friday or Saturday? Should I depart from the major international airport in the city or could I save money by leaving from the smaller domestic airport out in the suburbs? Should I book now, or are fares going to drop next month? All of these things can factor into the cost of a ticket.

Walt Disney World hotel rooms are a bit easier to secure, as there aren't as many variables at work that can affect the price. I just want to stay at a place that is clean, close to the park, and family-friendly. Oh, and the hotel has to be affordable, of course, because we obviously would rather spend our money on fun activities than on hotel rooms and plane tickets!

At this point, I think an all-inclusive Walt Disney World vacation package would be the best way to go for my family of four. That way, we'll know exactly what we have to pay for our biggest expenses, which will allow us to budget much better. Then once we get all the big stuff taken care of, we just need to worry about spending money for meals, souvenirs, and other incidentals.

We're all completely thrilled at the prospect of heading to Walt Disney World this summer! I can't wait to see how my kids react when they reach the Magic Kingdom and get to meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and the rest of the gang. Our departure date can't get here fast enough!
