Designer Kids Clothes for Less

Back when I was younger, I used to scoff at the idea of buying name-brand clothing for children. I clearly remember rolling my eyes whenever I saw parents dressing their young ones in tiny Nike shoes or Guess jeans. I couldn't figure out the point, especially since children outgrow everything so quickly. But now that I'm a parent myself, my thinking has changed completely. I totally understand the parental urge to buy the best of everything, and I've even begun buying designer kids clothes for my son.

Sure, I feel a tad bit guilty about spending extra money on designer kids clothes, but I just can't stop. It's natural for parents to want the absolute best for their children, and I'm no exception to the rule. But since I don't have a comfortable six-figure salary or fat trust fund to draw from, I have to be smart about shopping and try to stretch my dollars as far as they will go. That's why I only buy designer kids clothes that are on sale instead of paying full retail price.

Finding discount designer kids clothes can be a little challenging at times. It seems that the upscale department stores don't have clearance sales as regularly as the cheaper stores, so I can't depend on those places to fill my son's clothing needs. Fortunately, I've found a lot of great websites that carry designer kids clothes in all the latest styles and trends, giving me plenty of options to choose from. And more importantly, these websites often offer tremendous savings on luxury brands and top labels, which helps me get all the cute shirts, jeans, pants, and shoes I want without having to spend an arm and a leg.

Another wonderful way to buy designer kids clothes for less is to check at second-hand stores or consignment shops. As I mentioned before, children outgrow apparel so quickly that in many cases the clothing still has plenty of life left. Second-hand stores are the usual beneficiaries when there are no younger siblings involved, and I've been able to score some very gently used designer kids clothes from these places. The prices are absolutely unbeatable, too. We're talking $10 for a pair of Tommy jeans or $5 for a Ralph Lauren polo shirt! That's similar to what I would pay for generic brands at Wal-Mart or Target, so I don't feel guilty at all for indulging in name brands like this.

I'm sure that when most people hear that I dress my son in designer kids clothes, they think I'm spending unnecessarily high amounts of money on my purchases. But as you can see, there are several ways to get all the top brands for less if you just take the time to be a smart shopper!
