Street Racing Videos

What is it with guys and driving? Ever since I entered high school, every guy I've known has been obsessed with driving and acquiring their driver's license. It's like they can hardly wait to get it. For some odd reason I never had this passion like others do. My best friend while growing up wanted his license to drive more than anyone I've ever known. And you'd better believe that once he got it, he was driving at ridiculous speeds. I can see how there's a certain allure to driving and being in control of a powerful machine, but with sitting behind a wheel comes some heavy responsibility. Naturally you don't want to end up in a nasty car accident. And then there are street racing videos. These deal with the folks who're really enticed by the power of a car and the roar of an engine.

Remember that flick, "The Fast and the Furious?" This is one film that got some viewers taking to the streets and attempting insane stunts at terrific speeds. What were they thinking? Well, I'd say they were basically assuming that they could replicate what was done on the big screen. Not too bright, but not uncommon either. People always do this after watching films or television. In this case, you just had some young men attempting to create a few street racing videos. Well, it definitely didn't stop there. Although folks have been hurt in the past, more and more "street racers" continue to tear up their local highways. So I guess you could say that the film, "The Fast and the Furious" touched on reality. It was certainly art imitating life. And I do speak from experience.

One September a few years back, my buddy and I headed down to the Nopi Car Show in Atlanta, Georgia. At the time I didn't know what to expect. Well, as we were approaching the southern city, numerous tricked-out racing cars began to surround us. Suddenly everyone was flying toward the towering skyscrapers that stood in the near distance. Including us! My buddy was doing 125 in his 94 Mazda RX7. I was just shocked at how fast we were going. To be completely honest, it was a bit frightening. If you really want to see what street racing is all about, I suggest you check out a couple street racing videos before trying it yourself. It's much safer to watch.
